Our First Down program is designed for our youngest Raiders, ages 5-7, as a fun and non-contact introduction to football. This program focuses on teaching basic fundamentals in a supportive and encouraging environment, helping kids develop skills while enjoying time outside. No prior experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn! The only equipment required is a pair of running shoes and comfortable clothing. It’s the perfect way to get kids excited about the game while building confidence and having fun.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • First Down is open to all young people between the ages of 5-7.
  • No prior experience is necessary. 
  • You must be an active member of Football Ontario (FO) and Football Canada (FC).  Membership fees are payable once in a calendar year and can be done upon registration if not done already.  

SEASON:

          We will be running three sessions of our "First Down" Program. It is an outdoor program and runs once a week for 45 minutes. 

  • Mid-May until the end of June
  • Mid- July until the end of August
  • September until Mid-October

       *The actual start date will depend on when the city opens the fields. This will be weather dependant.

  EQUIPMENT:

    Athletes are required to wear:

  • Running Shoes
  • Comfortable Clothing
  • Mouthguard (suggested)

    GS Raiders First Down registration fees include … 

  • A team shirt (that can be kept)

* To play football with the Gloucester South Raiders (GS Raiders) you must be an active member of Football Ontario (FO) and Football Canada (FC).  Membership fees are payable once in a calendar year.  if you are already a member of FO use the same email address when registering with the GS Raiders to not be charged twice. 

 

REFUND POLICY:

  • Refunds, minus a $20 administrative fee, will be provided if a player withdraws before attending any activities.
  • Once the activity begins, no refunds will be issued. 
  • The GS Raiders will not issue a refund for third party fees as outlined below:
    • Football Canada and Football Ontario fees $8.00
    • $1.27 TeamLinkt transaction fee
