What is NCAFA?
The National Capital Football Association. It is the organization that runs the fall football league in which the Raiders teams participate. For more information on the league, please visit their website at www.ncafa.ca
When does the tackle season run?
Pre-season begins with practices/tryouts in July. The regular season runs from mid August until the end of the first weekend in November. There are provincial playoff games that may extend further into November.
What are the ages/divisions for the football players?
- U10 aged 8-9 years
- U12 aged 10-11 years
- U14 aged 12-13 years.
- U16 aged 14-15 years
- U19 aged 16-18 years
What equipment is needed?
The Raiders provide most equipment needed to participate, including helmet, shoulder pads, integrated football pants, and jersey. Football cleats need to be purchased by each participant. A mouthguard is also required for all activities. The Raiders do have some donated used football cleats that can be made available to those that require assistance.
What training do your coaches have?
All of our coaches are volunteers, but are required to have certifications set by Football Ontario including Safe Contact, Community Sport, and Safe Sport. All coaches with the Raiders attend mandatory league orientation meetings to ensure they adhere to the mandates of the Club, NCAFA, and Football Ontario.
How can I help?
The Raiders are run entirely by volunteers and your help is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in helping out, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and your request will be forwarded to the appropriate person.
